Authorities in the UK have announced that an 11-year-old girl is preparing to become Britain’s youngest mother.
According to The Mirror, the young girl, who cannot be named due to her age, fell pregnant after engaging in a sexual relationship with a boy, who is reportedly a few years older than her.
For legal reasons, very few details about the child’s pregnancy are being released at this time, according to reports.
As Metro reports, those close to the case say the girl is expected to give birth in the near future.
It remains unclear what will happen once the baby arrives, but authorities say they are still investigating the case.
This shocking news comes after it was revealed that Tressa Middleton, who was once called Britain’s youngest mother, is now expecting her second child.
Middleton, now 23, was forced to give up her child 10 years ago after it was discovered that she had been raped and impregnated by her own brother at the age of 12.
Although she later fell pregnant once again, Middleton ended up suffering a miscarriage.
“I just want things to be perfect this time around,” Middleton said, according to The Daily Mail. “Discovering I was pregnant was bittersweet. I am so excited about what the future holds and I already love my baby. I am so grateful I am finally going to be the mother I have longed to be all these years.”
“But I don’t ever want my first child to think I abandoned her, or that I am replacing her with this new baby. I’d welcome her back tomorrow with open arms if I could and I hope she knows she will always be a part of our family,” she added.
Before falling pregnant at the age of 12, Middleton had spent years in care before returning home to live with her family.
Sadly, she was sexually assaulted by her 16-year-old brother shortly after arriving home and found out she was pregnant soon after.
Although Middleton tried to take care of the baby, named Annie, for her first two years, she was taken away and put up for adoption once Middleton revealed who the father was to a friend while drunk.
“What happened before with my daughter being taken away really affects me,” she said. “I’ll do everything I can. I will not let this baby go. I don’t want anything to jeopardise my future with my baby.”
